Quote Requests (Stores Only)

Set up quote-only items and manage customer quote requests

What Are Quote Requests?

Quote requests are a feature for store business types that allows you to offer services or products without a fixed price. Instead of adding these items to their cart, customers can request a personalized quote.

This is perfect for:

  • Custom services (event planning, consulting, etc.)
  • Made-to-order products
  • Bulk pricing inquiries
  • Services that require assessment

Creating Quote-Only Items

  1. Go to Dashboard → Menu
  2. Click "Add Item" or edit an existing item
  3. Under the Price field, check the "Quote only" checkbox
  4. The price field becomes optional - you can leave it blank or enter a starting price
  5. Save your item

Quote-only items display a "Request Quote" button instead of an "Add to Cart" button.

Setting Up Custom Quote Form Fields

You can add custom fields to collect specific information from customers when they request a quote.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings
  2. Click on the "Quote Form" tab
  3. Click "+ Add Field" to create a new field
  4. Configure the field:
    • Field Label: The label shown to customers (e.g., "Event Date")
    • Field Type: Short Text, Long Text, Dropdown, or Checkbox
    • Options: For dropdowns, enter each option on a new line
    • Required: Whether the field must be filled in
  5. Drag fields to reorder them
  6. Click "Save Fields"

Managing Quote Requests

When customers submit quote requests, you'll see them on your dashboard.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Quotes
  2. You'll see all quote requests with their status
  3. Click on a quote to expand and see all details
  4. Use the status buttons to update the quote status:
    • Pending: New quote request, needs attention
    • Contacted: You've reached out to the customer
    • Closed: Quote has been completed or declined
  5. Click "Email" to send a response to the customer

AI Integration

Your AI assistant is aware of which items are quote-only and can help customers:

  • When asked about services, the AI describes available quote-only items
  • Customers can ask the AI to "build a quote" for a specific service
  • The AI opens the quote request form automatically when requested
  • Quote-only items are never added to the cart

📝 Note

Quote requests are only available for store business types. If your business type is set to "restaurant", you won't see the Quote Form settings or Quotes navigation option.
