Updating Status
- Go to Dashboard → Orders
- Find the order you want to update in the orders list
- Click the status button for the status you want to move to (e.g., "Confirmed", "Preparing", "Ready")
- The status will update immediately and the customer will be notified via email
You can jump forward to any status in the flow, but you cannot go backwards. For example, if an order is "Preparing", you can move it to "Ready" or "Completed", but not back to "Confirmed".
Order Status Flow
For restaurants, the typical flow is:
- Pending: Order received, awaiting confirmation
- Confirmed: Order confirmed and accepted
- Preparing: Order is being prepared
- Ready: Order is ready for pickup
- Completed: Order has been picked up/delivered
For stores:
- Pending: Order received, awaiting confirmation
- Confirmed: Order confirmed
- Fulfilled: Order has been fulfilled/shipped
You can cancel an order at any time (except if it's already completed or cancelled).
Customer Notifications
When you update an order status, customers automatically receive email notifications (if enabled). They'll be informed of the status change and can track their order progress.
