SEO Settings
Optimize your menu page for search engines with meta titles, descriptions, and Open Graph images
What is SEO?
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) helps your menu page appear in search results when customers search for your business or related terms. MenuIQ provides SEO settings that help search engines understand and display your menu page better.
Accessing SEO Settings
- Go to Dashboard → Settings
- Scroll to the "SEO Settings" section
- You'll see three fields:
- Meta Title: The title that appears in search results
- Meta Description: The description that appears below the title in search results
- Open Graph Image: The image that appears when your menu is shared on social media
Meta Title
The meta title is the headline that appears in search engine results and browser tabs.
Best Practices:
- Keep it under 60 characters (longer titles get cut off in search results)
- Include your business name
- Add location if relevant (e.g., "Mario's Pizza - Downtown Chicago")
- Include what you offer (e.g., "Menu & Online Ordering")
- Make it compelling and descriptive
Examples:
- "Mario's Pizza - Menu & Online Ordering | Downtown Chicago"
- "The Coffee House - Order Online | Fresh Coffee & Pastries"
- "Joe's Burgers - Menu, Hours & Delivery"
If left blank: MenuIQ will use your business name as the default title.
Meta Description
The meta description appears below the title in search results and helps customers understand what your page is about.
Best Practices:
- Keep it between 150-160 characters (longer descriptions get cut off)
- Write a compelling summary of what customers will find
- Include a call to action (e.g., "Order online", "Browse our menu")
- Mention key offerings or specialties
- Use natural, engaging language
- Don't stuff keywords - write for humans first
Examples:
- "Order authentic Italian pizza online from Mario's Pizza. Browse our menu, place orders for pickup or delivery, and enjoy fresh ingredients daily. Family-owned since 1985."
- "Browse The Coffee House menu and order fresh coffee, pastries, and light meals online. Fast pickup and delivery available. Visit us in downtown or order online."
If left blank: MenuIQ will generate a default description based on your business name and type.
Open Graph Image
The Open Graph image is the preview image that appears when your menu link is shared on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or messaging apps.
Best Practices:
- Use a high-quality image (recommended: 1200x630 pixels)
- Include your logo or a photo of your best dish
- Make it visually appealing and on-brand
- Use JPG, PNG, or WebP format
- Keep file size reasonable (under 1MB recommended)
- Ensure text is readable at small sizes
If left blank: MenuIQ will use your logo or a default image when your menu is shared.
