Embedded tools

Offer scheduling, forms, and other HTTPS embeds that open inside the customer chat.

What embedded tools are

Embedded tools are booking links, forms, or other pages you surface inside the chat so customers can complete them without leaving your MenuIQ experience. You configure each tool in the dashboard; the assistant decides when to open them based on the instructions you write.

Where to configure them

  1. Open Dashboard → Settings
  2. Expand Embedded tools
  3. Use Add tool, edit fields, then click Save tools

Saving embedded tools is separate from the other AI Settings save buttons on the same page—always use Save tools after changing tools.

Fields

  • Display name: Shown above the live embed and on optional shortcuts.
  • Icon: Optional image by upload or URL; appears on shortcuts and next to the embed title.
  • Show on chat menu: Lists the tool under category shortcuts and in the slide-out menu.
  • Instructions (When the AI should open this): Tell the assistant when to offer this tool (for example when someone asks to book or schedule).
  • Embed URL or HTML: An HTTPS link or provider embed code (for example Calendly). Unsupported markup cannot be loaded—stick to HTTPS links or standard iframe embeds from your provider.

Supported embeds

Calendly is handled with the official inline widget when your snippet or URL is valid. Many other services work when they expose an HTTPS page or iframe embed that allows being shown in a framed chat panel.

Tips

  • Keep display names short—they appear on menu-style buttons.
  • Square icons look best at small sizes.
  • Match your “when to open” text to real customer phrases so the assistant offers the right tool.
